| Obverse description | A cock standing to the right in high relief, rendered in the archaic style characteristic of late sixth- to early fifth-century BC Mysian coinage. The bird's plumage is rendered with fine incised strokes indicating individual feathers, with a prominent comb and wattle visible above the head. A partial retrograde Greek inscription appears in the upper field, associated with the toponym of Dardanos. The flan is irregular and convex, typical of early electrum coinage struck by the hammered method. |

| Reverse description | A quadripartite incuse square divided by a raised cross into four recessed compartments of unequal depth, the whole struck deeply into the planchet by a punched reverse die. The incuse punch is of the standard mill-sail or windmill type, with each quadrant presenting a rough, granular surface characteristic of early electrum stater production in the Troad region. The broad, shallow incuse border surrounds the central square, and the flan surface outside the incuse is irregular and slightly concave. |
