| Obverse description | A winged male figure — likely a deity or daimon — depicted in the archaistic kneeling-running pose (knielauf), oriented to the left with the head turned to face right. The figure grasps a tunny fish by its tail in his left hand, a recurrent type-badge emblematic of Kyzikos, a city renowned for its tunny fisheries. The musculature and wing feathers are rendered in the bold, stylised manner characteristic of late Archaic Greek coinage. The design occupies the full flan with no exergual line or legend, consistent with early electrum coinage of the Propontis region. |
