| Obverse description | Pegasus, the mythical winged horse, depicted in full flight facing left with wings outstretched and feathers rendered in fine detail. The creature is shown in a dynamic, prancing posture with all four legs extended, the curling tail adding movement to the composition. In the lower field beneath the figure appears the Corinthian civic control mark koppa (Ϙ), serving as a mint identifier. The design is executed in high relief with bold, confident engraving characteristic of the Corinthian die-cutting tradition of the mid-to-late Classical period. |
