Obverse description The Minotaur depicted in running pose facing left, rendered in archaic style with a human body and bovine head. The figure is shown in three-quarter view with legs bent in the conventional running position known as the 'knielauf' motif. The musculature is rendered with bold, somewhat schematic relief typical of Cretan die-cutting of the Classical period. The field is plain, with no legend or inscription.
