Reverse description An elaborate trident head depicted upright and centrally positioned within the field, its three prongs terminating in outward-facing barbs of distinctive angular form, connected near the base by a horizontal cross-bar. The city monogram Φ-A (for Phalasarna) appears prominently between the outer prongs of the trident, serving as the principal identifying legend of the issuing polis. Additional small symbols are visible in the lower field. The overall design is bold and geometric, consistent with the civic coinage of western Crete during the early Hellenistic period.
