| Obverse description | Pegasus in full flight to the left, rendered in high relief with carefully detailed outstretched wings and muscular body. The winged horse is depicted in a dynamic, naturalistic style characteristic of Corinthian die engravers of the early 4th century BC. Below the body of Pegasus appears the archaic Greek koppa (Ϙ), serving as the civic identifier of Corinth. The field is otherwise plain, with the design occupying the full flan. |
