Obverse description Nude youth seated sideways on a horse prancing to the right, his body turned three-quarters facing the viewer; the rider holds the reins with both hands and appears to dismount or prepare to mount, a characteristic type of Kelenderis coinage. The horse is rendered with naturalistic musculature, its forelegs raised and mane carefully engraved. The exergue features a ground line composed of dotted or linear elements. The composition reflects the fine artistic tradition of Cilician mint engravers of the early fourth century BC.
