Reverse description A charging or kneeling bull facing right, rendered with muscular anatomical detail; the animal's back is decorated with a wreath or garland draped across its body, and its head is lowered aggressively with prominent horns. An eagle or bird of prey is perched atop the bull's back, facing left, grasping or attacking the animal. The composition is framed below by a ground line, beneath which an inscription in Oscan script reads in the exergue. The bold, energetic style is characteristic of the coinage struck by the Italic confederacy during the Social War.
Reverse script Old Italics
