Reverse description Plain incuse square of quadripartite form, divided into four recessed compartments by a raised cross-shaped ridge, creating a distinctive mill-sail or swastika-like pattern within the square punch. This deeply sunk incuse mark is characteristic of early Greek hammered coinage of the sixth century BC, serving as the countermark of the punch die used to fix the flan during striking. The surrounding field is broad and unadorned.
