Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in fine high-relief with long flowing curls of hair and a full beard in the Classical Greek style. The wreath of olive leaves encircles the head, befitting the deity's association with the sanctuary at Olympia. The portrait is naturalistic and of exceptional artistic quality, conveying divine gravitas. A two-letter ethnic monogram, AP, appears below the truncation of the neck in the lower field.
