Obverse description The Merkava main battle tank is depicted in high relief advancing dynamically across broken terrain, with its gun barrel raised and smoke clouds in the upper field suggesting combat. Reverse description An ancient war chariot drawn by a galloping horse, ridden by an archer in the act of drawing his bow, rendered in stylized relief evoking the period of the Israelite kings. In the lower field, the Hebrew inscription "מרכבותיך ישועה" appears above a horizontal line, beneath which the Armored Corps emblem flanks the legend "CHARIOTS OF SALVATION" with the source citation "HABAKKUK חבקוק" in the exergue.
