Obverse description A bold high-relief depiction of the Masada mesa dominates the field, with indications of the Roman siege camps at its base. Above the mountain, the Hebrew legend "בני חורין נשאר" (We shall remain free) is rendered in large stylized block letters rising from the summit. The English translation "WE SHALL REMAIN FREE MEN" curves along the lower rim.
