Reverse description Within a deep circular incuse, a replica of the Roman 'Iudaea Capta' sestertius of Vespasian (70 C.E.) rendered in relief: a central palm tree flanked by a standing armored Roman emperor to the left and a mourning seated female captive to the right, with the legend 'IVDAEA CAPTA' and senatorial mark 'SC' inscribed on the coin replica. The border of the medal features a chain motif symbolizing captivity, with the Hebrew inscription 'Judea in Captivity 3830' around the upper rim and 'JUDAEA CAPTIVE 70 C.E.' along the lower rim.
