| Reverse description | The reverse features a richly detailed scene of Ethiopian Jewish village life in high relief, centered on a synagogue bearing a Star of David. Surrounding it are traditional thatched homes, a Kes (religious leader) in ceremonial dress holding a sacred text at right, traditional tools including a loom, ritual vessels and pottery in the lower field, and figures on a hilltop in the upper field. Decorative zigzag borders frame the left and right edges, with bilingual legends in Hebrew and Ge'ez running along the upper and lower periphery. |
