Obverse description King Christian I of Oldenburg stands in full regal attire to the right of a central altar, holding a scepter, with the Danish royal shield at his feet; he conjures the national charter of 1460 (inscribed 'DER LANDE PRIVILEGIO') placed upon the altar. To his left stand two crowned and veiled female personifications of Schleswig and Holstein, with a heraldic shield visible behind them. The legend surrounds the scene, and the exergue bears 'RIPEN' and the date 'MITTWOCH N.INVOC. 1460'.
