Obverse description Bust of Valentinianus II facing right, rendered in two known bust varieties: variety (A) with pearl diadem, draped and cuirassed; variety (B) with rosette diadem, draped and cuirassed. The effigy is rendered in the late antique imperial portrait style, with elaborate drapery over the cuirass visible at the shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Latin capitals.
