| Reverse description | The emperor Valentinianus I stands facing with head turned to the right, depicted in full military attire including cuirass and paludamentum. In his raised right hand he grasps a labarum — the Chi-Rho standard — while his extended left hand supports a small winged Victory perched upon a globe, herself holding a wreath. The composition conveys imperial authority and divine favour. The reverse legend RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE encircles the field, and the mintmark, including the officina letter and palm branch, appears in the exergue. |
