| Reverse description | Standing frontal figure of the emperor in military dress, helmeted and cuirassed, facing slightly right, with his right foot trampling a crouching captive or serpentine enemy figure beneath. In his raised right hand he holds a long jeweled labarum-style standard or spear, while his extended left hand presents a Victory figure standing upon a globus. The circumferential legend VICTORI-A AVGGG is distributed around the field, with the mint mark RV (for Ravenna) appearing in the field to the left and right of the central figure. The exergue contains COMOB, the standard Late Roman gold purity and officina designation, enclosed within a tablet. |
