| Reverse description | Two enthroned figures flank a central votive shield: at left, Roma, seated facing with head turned right, holds a grounded spear in her right hand; at right, Constantinopolis, seated facing with head turned left, holds a grounded scepter in her left hand. Both figures jointly support between them a large shield inscribed with the votive legend VOT / XV / MVL / XX in four lines, commemorating the fifteenth vow and anticipating the twentieth. A star appears in the left field. The mint signature CONOB occupies the exergue, identifying the issue as a full-weight Constantinople solidus struck in refined gold. |
