Obverse description Right-facing bust of Magnus Maximus wearing a rosette-diadem, draped paludamentum, and cuirass, rendered in high relief characteristic of late Roman imperial coinage. The emperor's effigy displays finely engraved hair arranged in tight curls beneath the jewelled diadem, with a strong, idealized profile. The bust is set against a flat field with the encircling Latin legend interrupted by the portrait. Fibula clasp detail is visible at the right shoulder securing the imperial mantle.
