Obverse description Right-facing diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Libius Severus, wearing a jewelled diadem with a prominent central rosette and pendilia. The emperor is depicted in military attire with paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, rendered in the schematic late antique style characteristic of Western Roman imperial coinage of the mid-fifth century. A circular legend in Latin runs along the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays the rigid, frontal-tending stylisation typical of Mediolanum mint production under the last Western emperors.
