Beneath his left foot, a kneeling captive enemy warrior is subdued, conveying Roman military dominance. The surrounding Latin legend VIRTVS EXERCI-TVS ROMANORVM proclaims the valour of the Roman armies, while the exergue bears the mint mark ANTΔ, denoting the fourth officina of the Antioch mint.
