| Obverse description | Bareheaded bust of Julian II (as Caesar) facing right, draped and cuirassed, with finely rendered wavy hair swept back from the forehead and a youthful, clean-shaven visage. The paludamentum is fastened at the right shoulder with a fibula, and the cuirass is visible at the lower neck. The Latin legend encircles the effigy within a beaded border, reading D N IVLIANVS NOB CAES, identifying him as Dominus Noster and noble Caesar. |

| Reverse description | Two enthroned personifications face one another in a formal, symmetrical composition: Roma, helmeted and draped, seated facing front at left, holds a spear in her left hand; Constantinopolis, draped and seated facing left, rests her right foot upon a ship's prow and holds a sceptre in her left hand. Together they support between them a wreath enclosing a star. The legend GLORIA REI PVBLICAE, meaning 'Glory of the Public Affairs (of the State)', is divided across the field, with the mint mark SMAN S (Sacra Moneta Antiochiae, sixth officina) placed in the exergue. |
