| Obverse description | Right-facing draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Jovian, adorned with an elaborate rosette diadem composed of multiple jewelled medallions and pearl strings, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair. The emperor's effigy is depicted with a firm, authoritative profile, the paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder with a large circular fibula. The obverse legend is distributed around the periphery of the field in crisp Latin capitals. |
