Obverse description Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust of Julius Nepos facing three-quarters right, with a spear held over the right shoulder and a shield visible behind. The effigy is rendered in the late Roman imperial tradition with fine engraving of the helmet crest and armor details. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the bust within the coin's field.

Reverse description A winged Victory standing facing left, holding a long jeweled cross in both hands, rendered in the late antique style characteristic of fifth-century Western imperial solidi. A star is visible to the right of the figure.
