Reverse description The emperor stands facing, helmeted and in full military attire, holding a long staff surmounted by a Chi-Rho christogram in his left hand and an orb topped with a Victory in his outstretched right hand. A captive barbarian kneels in submission at his feet. The mint mark RV is placed to either side of the central figure in the field, and the exergue bears the inscription COMOB, denoting gold of the highest purity struck at Ravenna. The encircling legend VICTORI-A AVGGG proclaims the victory of the three Augusti. A beaded border frames the design.
