Reverse description The reverse presents Crispus as a victorious cavalry commander, shown draped and cuirassed, galloping to the right with his military cloak billowing behind him. He thrusts a spear in his right hand toward a kneeling enemy below, while holding a shield on his left arm; beneath the horse, a second fallen enemy is depicted with a shield, emphasizing the theme of imperial military supremacy. The reverse legend VIRTVS - CAESARI N, flanking the equestrian scene, invokes the virtue and martial valor of the Caesar. The mint mark SMNP appears in the exergue, denoting the officina of the Nicomedia mint. The composition reflects the VIRTVS CAESARVM typology common to Constantinian-era coinage celebrating dynastic military prowess.
