Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Crispus facing left, rendered in fine late-Roman style with detailed scale-patterned cuirass and paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The youthful features of the Caesar are rendered with characteristic Constantinian portraiture, the laureate wreath sitting prominently on the close-cropped hair. The obverse legend D N CRISPVS NOB CAES runs clockwise around the bust within a beaded border, identifying the subject as Flavius Julius Crispus, Noble Caesar.
