| Obverse description | Facing military bust of Constantius II, pearl-diademed and wearing a crested, jewelled helmet, cuirassed, the emperor presented in a frontal three-quarter view. In his raised right hand he holds a spear slanting diagonally over his right shoulder; his left arm supports a large, decorated shield bearing an equestrian scene depicting a mounted horseman trampling a fallen enemy. The obverse legend, rendered in Latin capital letters, frames the bust. |
