Obverse description Bare-headed, diademed bust of Constantius II as Caesar facing right, depicted as a youthful prince with finely rendered wavy hair bound by a plain diadem with trailing ribbons visible behind the neck. The portrait is executed in the refined Constantinian court style, with a naturalistic, slightly idealized physiognomy. The bust is draped at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C, identifying the subject as Flavius Julius Constantius in his rank as Nobilissimus Caesar.
