Reverse description Two crowned imperial busts facing, both in full regalia: Romanos I on the left and Constantine VII on the right, each wearing a jewelled stemma crown surmounted by a cross finial. Between the two figures rises a patriarchal cross on steps, jointly held by both emperors. Romanos I is attired in loros decorated with prominent jewelled bosses, while Constantine VII wears a chlamys with tablion. The circular border legend ROMAN ET CONSTANT AUGG runs around the periphery within a beaded border, identifying the two co-ruling Augusti.
