The effigy is pearl-diademed, the diadem visibly composed of a double row of pearls with a distinctive leafed ornament above the ear, with the hair elaborately waved and falling in beaded strands behind. The bust is draped and cuirassed, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, visible at lower right. The obverse legend CONSTAN-TINVS AVG is inscribed in bold Latin capitals around the field, divided left and right of the portrait, within a beaded border.
