Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Constans I, laureate and rosette-diademed, the elaborate coiffure rendered with finely engraved parallel striations and adorned with rows of beads, the neck and shoulders draped in a paludamentum over cuirass with decorative shoulder brooch visible at lower left. The portrait exhibits the refined late-antique style characteristic of the Thessalonica mint, with delicate facial features in sharp profile. The encircling Latin legend is interrupted by the bust and reads within a beaded border.
