Obverse description Right-facing draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Arcadius, adorned with a pearl diadem featuring distinctive rows of pearls and pendant drops at the temple. The effigy displays the characteristic late antique imperial portrait style, with carefully rendered paludamentum fastened at the shoulder by a jewelled fibula. The facial features are rendered in the stylized manner of Theodosian court art, with large almond-shaped eyes and a prominent nose. The surrounding field carries the Latin legend D N ARCADI-VS P F AVG, interrupted by the bust.
