Obverse description Draped bust of Aelia Pulcheria facing right, adorned with a pearl diadem, elaborate jeweled necklace, and pendant earrings, rendered in the refined late antique court style. The effigy displays richly detailed imperial robes with finely incised folds visible at the shoulder, and an ornate brooch at the chest. The hair is elaborately dressed with a bun or chignon at the crown, characteristic of Theodosian-era imperial portraiture. The Latin legend AEL PVLCHERIA AVG encircles the bust, partially visible in the field.
