Reverse description Central design features a bold Greek cross with concave or scalloped arms, each canton adorned with a fleur-de-lis in relief, forming a quartered composition of four lilies. The cross divides the field into four equal sections, with the fleurs-de-lis positioned symmetrically within each quarter. The surrounding Latin legend, reading clockwise and counterclockwise, encircles the entire design within a milled border. The reverse design reflects the deeply religious iconography typical of French royal billon coinage of the early seventeenth century.
