Reverse description The Roman numeral VI, denoting the denomination of six pence, is boldly struck in large capitals at the centre of the flan, occupying most of the available field. A thick ring of prominent denticles frames the design, forming a circular inner border consistent with the obverse treatment. The flan exhibits the irregular, broadly octagonal profile typical of this emergency hammered siege coinage, with a coarsely textured, worn surface throughout.
