| Obverse description | Frontal bust of King Mehadeyis, crowned and draped, occupying the central field. The king wears an elaborate tiered crown and is depicted in a hieratic, frontal style characteristic of late Aksumite royal portraiture. A cross pattee appears to the left of the bust within the field. Ge'ez legend surrounding the effigy reads the royal name and title. |
