| Obverse description | Plain field bearing the Latin inscription SOLIDV within a decorative chain border, each loop of the chain enclosing a small pellet. The legend is rendered in bold, somewhat irregular Celtic-influenced lettering characteristic of Cantian coinage of the early first century AD. The overall design is strikingly simple, with the inscription serving as the sole device against an unadorned flan. The chain border forms a near-complete enclosure, lending the composition a structured, if irregularly struck, appearance. |
