Reverse description A stylised Celtic horse prancing to the right, rendered in the distinctive abstracted La Tène manner with a disjointed body, pellets scattered above the animal's back and in the field. Below the horse, the retrograde or freely rendered Latin legend SAENV occupies the lower register in large, somewhat irregular characters. The horse's legs are reduced to schematic linear forms, and the overall composition fills the flan with dynamic energy typical of late Icenian silver coinage. A beaded border follows the edge of the irregular flan.
