Additional information

The Freckenham series takes its name from a hoard found in Suffolk in the nineteenth century, within the core territory the Iceni occupied before Boudica's revolt of 60–61 AD reduced their political existence to ash. These small silver units were likely struck under tribal authority in the decades immediately before the Claudian invasion of 43 AD, a period when Icenian leaders were navigating increasingly tense client-king arrangements with Rome.

The boar type is catalogued under ABC 1573 and aligns with the BMC Iron Age sequence at 3440–2.
