Obverse description Central rectangular tablet bearing the abbreviated royal legend CVNO, denoting Cunobelin, enclosed within a double-lined frame. The tablet is set within an open field surrounded by a decorative wreath border composed of stylised foliage and pellets, rendered in the distinctive late Celtic curvilinear tradition. Subsidiary ornamental elements, including scroll and pellet motifs, flank the central tablet within the wreath surround. The overall composition reflects the Romanising influence on late British Iron Age coinage while retaining indigenous artistic conventions. The coin flan is irregular, characteristic of hand-struck hammered silver units of this period.
