| Reverse description | Naturalistic horse striding left, rendered with greater fidelity to life than is typical of many contemporary Celtic coinages. The tail is depicted as a single strand. Beneath the tail appears a V-shaped or lyre-form ornament. Above the horse, a cruciform arrangement of rings and crescents fills the upper field. Below the horse, a large cross with pellets at each terminal occupies the lower field, a distinctive feature of the Cotswold Crosses type of the Dobunni series. |
