Additional information

Antedios is attested as an Iceni ruler through coin evidence alone — no Roman source names him directly. His issues appear to postdate Anted, possibly a predecessor, and predate the client-kingdom arrangements the Iceni held with Rome following the Claudian invasion of 43 AD. The "Sia" classification distinguishes this half-unit within a series where fractional denominations were likely used in low-value local exchange rather than inter-tribal trade.

ABC 1636 is among the scarcer Iceni fractions. At 8 mm and half a gram, these were easily lost and rarely hoarded.
