| Obverse description | Three-quarter length armored effigy of Maximilian I in right profile, clad in full plate armor and wearing a closed imperial crown. The figure holds an upraised sword in the right hand and an imperial orb in the left, conveying regal and martial authority. The portrait is rendered in the Gothic hammered style typical of late 15th-century Netherlandish coinage. A circular legend in Latin uncial script surrounds the effigy, incorporating the date 1487. |
