| Obverse description | Central field bears a two-line retrograde Latin inscription arranged within a rectilinear tablet or linear frame, reading VIR VAR — an abbreviated form of the royal name and title associated with Verica of the Atrebates. The entire design is contained within a pellet border encircling the flan. The execution is crude and irregular, consistent with the clandestine manufacture of a contemporary counterfeit minim struck from a base metal core subsequently silver-plated. |
