| Reverse description | A schematic facing bull's head is depicted at the centre of the reverse field, rendered in the bold, abstracted manner typical of Atrebatic Celtic coinage of the early 1st century AD. The horns of the bull are prominently delineated and the facial features are rendered in low but distinct relief. The royal name legend V ERICA appears divided, with a portion inscribed above the bull's head in inverted orientation and the remainder below, a layout documented across this series. The overall design conveys the characteristic fusion of Roman iconographic influence and native Celtic artistic convention found on Verica's coinage. |

| Additional information |
Verica was the last client king of the Atrebates before his expulsion — likely by Caratacus of the Catuvellauni — forced him to flee to Rome and appeal directly to Emperor Claudius. That appeal is widely considered one of the proximate causes of the Roman invasion of Britain in 43 AD. These minims, the smallest denomination in the Atrebatic series, were struck in the final decade of a kingdom that would cease to exist within a generation.
