Obverse description Draped bust of Duke Leopold I facing right, wearing a voluminous curled periwig rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail. The effigy is uncrowned and shows the duke in a plain draped truncation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait within a finely toothed milled border.

The design is highly symmetrical, reflecting the heraldic arms and personal devices of Duke Leopold I. A circular Latin legend with the date surrounds the entire composition, enclosed within a toothed milled border.
