Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large crowned heraldic shield bearing the rampant lion of the Dutch Republic, depicted with sword raised and a bundle of arrows, set within an ornate cartouche surmounted by an elaborate crown adorned with floral and foliate ornaments. The date 1764 is divided on either side of the shield in the field. The circular legend CONCORDIA : RES : PARVÆ : CRESCUNT surrounds the central device, conveying the Dutch Republican motto. A beaded border frames the entire composition, consistent with the milled coinage standards of the period.
