Obverse description Left-facing crowned and draped bust of Queen Victoria as Empress, rendered in high relief after the portrait type used on British Indian coinage. The Queen wears the small imperial crown and an elaborately draped veil, with a beaded necklace visible at the throat. Fine detail is evident in the lace-trimmed bodice and the chased crown. The legend VICTORIA EMPRESS arcs around the field in Latin characters, with denticular border encircling the entire design.
